Ichiro sighed as he walked out of the door of his family’s restaurant. He waved to a few patrons as he walked out. They knew him well. He had worked there long enough now, and indeed spent many years there prior to that, that all the regulars knew who he was. He put his hands inside of the pockets of the black pants he wore to work, and headed back down the street on which the restaurant sat on. Normally, he would walk a few streets then turn right. That, after turning down a few more streets, would take him to his apartment. It was a good walk back to his place, but he enjoyed walking. However, today, he kept on walking. He almost thought about turning around to go to the park to train, but thought that since he’d done so for a few hours yesterday he deserved a break.
They’d been especially busy at work today, besides, so he needed a break. It was so hard for Ichiro to just relax sometimes. It wasn’t in his nature, and he figured by looking at his parents – he knew why. They both threw themselves completely into work, and didn’t often take breaks either unless it was scheduled. That’s why he had spent so much time at the restaurant when he was younger. That was just all he knew – working. When he wasn’t working, he was training. Generally, he liked his life. Though he wasn’t sure if this is what he wanted to do forever – other than Waterbending, it was all he knew. He had never really felt like being a teacher – and he was no healer – so what else did you do with Waterbending? He certainly had no desire to be a Probending athlete. Therefore, he’d end up running his family’s restaurant one day. That wasn’t so bad, was it?
After a bit of walking, and turning a few streets, Ichiro came to his favorite bookstore. He hadn’t been in here in a while, but he was sort of forced to go now. He’d read every book he’d had at home, and now needed a new project. The Waterbender didn’t read very often since he spent so much time either working or training. He did read, though, and needed a new book. It was only now as he walked inside the building that he realized he’d left his hair back. He thought that something had felt off… Reaching behind, he took the band in hair out, letting his long, brown hair down. Much better, he thought to himself. He had been in charge again today, though today he’d chosen a light blue shirt to wear. There was really no preference on what managers wore, as long as it was appropriate.
Ichiro started to aimlessly wander around. He wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to get today. He would read a little of everything, though he wasn’t hugely fond of romance. Although, he had dabbled in the later every now and again. He would read whatever struck his fancy. Today, he wandered over to the adventure section, and the Waterbender wasn’t sure where his feet would take in the bookstore next. Nothing struck at him, though, and he kept on wandering to the next section. Surely, he’d see something. Maybe it was just that kind of day when nothing seemed interesting. Giving a sigh, he slowly kept on moving to the next section. He was going to have to eat out if he didn’t get home soon, too, so he thought unless something exciting happened, he’d need to find a book and get home.
